Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking an experienced Risk Manager to join its London Risk and Compliance function on a permanent basis.

The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced risk professional or qualified lawyer to take on a senior position within a leading international law firm's Risk function. The successful candidate will have responsibility for managing Risk Analysts, handling complex regulatory and compliance matters and acting as a key escalation point across the firm's wider new business intake teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading strategic and individual risk and compliance projects, managing delivery, coordinating key stakeholders and providing updates to senior management
- Acting as a key escalation point for complex regulatory risk matters arising across AML, Conflicts, Matter Administration and wider new business intake functions
- Line managing Risk Analyst(s), conducting performance reviews and identifying training opportunities
- Monitoring regulatory, legislative and market developments and ensuring relevant policies, procedures and internal guidance are updated accordingly
- Working alongside the Conflicts Manager to review, assess and resolve complex or escalated conflicts matters
- Overseeing complex data protection issues, including data breaches
- Managing workflow across the Risk Team
- Conducting and overseeing internal risk assessments, compliance audits and investigations
- Reviewing client terms and advising on associated risk and compliance considerations
- Supporting the recruitment, onboarding, training and ongoing development of the Risk team
- Managing client file requests throughout the full process, in line with internal procedures
- Developing and delivering risk and compliance training across the firm
- Providing guidance on complex compliance queries and acting as a senior point of support for Risk Analysts, fee earners and business services teams
- Reviewing and improving the firm's risk systems and policies
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer or experienced risk professional
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working within a Risk function in a law firm
- Previous experience managing a team
