The Firm
Our client is a leading international law firm with a strong London presence and a global network of offices. As part of the continued development of its Financial Services function, the firm is now seeking a Senior Management Accountant to join the team.
The Opportunity
This is a key role responsible for overseeing the Firm's non-US financial services function, ensuring compliance with accounting practices, policies and regulatory requirements. The Senior Management Accountant will work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors to support financial control, reporting and strategic planning across international offices. Key responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing compliance with UK Solicitors Accounts Rules and Money Laundering regulations, implementing and strengthening quality controls where required
  • Leading the SRA annual audit process, including gathering supporting documentation, responding to queries and recommending process improvements
  • Preparing and submitting the annual PSA return in conjunction with management
  • Participating in month-end and year-end close processes for all non-US offices, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries
  • Preparing annual financial plans for non-US offices and conducting variance analysis throughout the year
  • Working closely with the tax team to ensure accurate and timely completion of non-US tax returns and audits
  • Managing relationships with external accountants, consultants, auditors and vendors
  • Supporting and leading financial analysis and special projects as required
Requirements
  • ACA qualified with a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Accounting
  • Four to six years' accounting experience, ideally within an SRA regulated law firm
  • Strong knowledge of UK Solicitors Accounts Rules and non-US tax and accounting requirements
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting and reporting systems
  • Strong analytical, organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
