Job Description
The Firm
We are representing a progressive Top 100 law firm who offer comprehensive services to businesses and individuals across multiple sectors. It has a strong presence in both commercial and private client work, with expertise spanning corporate and commercial law, employment, real estate, personal injury, medical negligence, and private wealth.
The Opportunity
This is a key role where the candidate will act as the escalation point for complex and 'higher risk' risk and compliance issues.
- Consulting with partners and staff on high-level ethical and regulatory challenges, including professional conduct, data privacy, and conflicts screening
- Serving as a compliance champion to reinforce a strong, ethical working culture throughout the firm
- Spearheading and supervising all major compliance-related projects from inception to completion
- Developing and refreshing all written risk documentation, internal alerts, communications, and learning resources
- Designing and presenting specialised training sessions for each of the firm's three divisions
- Tracking and analysing shifts in statutory and regulatory frameworks relevant to the firm's operations
- Preparing comprehensive submissions for the Risk Committee on matters carrying significant exposure
- Mentoring and supporting the professional growth of junior members within the team
Requirements
Essential:
- Extensive experience of working in risk and compliance in a law firm
- Advanced knowledge of the relevant laws, regulations and codes of conduct applicable to the operation of a law firm
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- Analytical, numerate, and excellent attention to detail
Desirable:
- Qualified solicitor with current Practising Certificate
- Minimum degree-level education or equivalent, with a legal or compliance qualification preferred
- Managerial / coaching others experience
