The Opportunity
The firm is recruiting for a Head of Finance to join its Accounts & Finance team in a newly-created, full-time, permanent position. This crucial leadership role will lead the Finance and Revenue functions, overseeing a team of nine (with seven direct reports).
You will have responsibility for the following core functions:
- Management Accounts
- General Firm Accounting and Audit
- Revenue (WIP, Billing, Credit Control)
- Systems and Management Information
This role involves line management, overseeing the preparation and delivery of monthly and quarterly management reports, managing the annual budgeting and planning processes, and acting as a point of escalation for all WIP, billing, and credit control issues. You will also deputise for the Finance Director on occasion.
Requirements
- Be a qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
- Strong background (at least 5 years) leading management accounts for a law firm or similar professional services organisation is essential
- Strong management experience and leadership skills
- Proficiency in 3E Elite or a comparable accounting system is preferred
- Expert knowledge of modern accounting regulations, tax, and best practices
- Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen
