Our client, an international law firm with a strong global presence, is looking to appoint a Conflicts & Compliance Lawyer to join its established Regulatory function.
The firm is recognised for its high-performing, collaborative culture and its commitment to operating with integrity, supporting lawyers and business teams through a well-embedded and forward-thinking risk framework.
The Opportunity
The firm's General Counsel's Office plays a central role in enabling the business to operate safely and effectively, providing expert legal and regulatory guidance across multiple jurisdictions. With a well-resourced global team of risk and compliance professionals, this is an opportunity to work at the heart of the firm's decision-making processes.
This role offers broad exposure and the chance to influence how risk is managed across the firm. You will:
- Assessing and advising on potential conflicts issues arising from new instructions, clients, and lateral hires
- Interpreting outputs from conflicts systems to identify risks and guide appropriate resolutions
- Partnering with senior stakeholders on complex or high-risk matters, providing clear and pragmatic guidance
- Supporting compliance with regulatory obligations across client onboarding, engagement terms, and ongoing matters
- Contributing to the evolution of internal policies, processes, and systems in response to regulatory change and business growth
- Delivering training sessions and practical guidance to legal and business teams to enhance risk awareness
- Providing oversight and direction to junior team members, particularly on escalated or sensitive queries
This is a highly visible role within a respected global function, offering the opportunity to work on complex, business-critical matters.
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor with circa 3-5 years' PQE (flexible for the right individual)
- Experience advising on conflicts within a law firm, or strong commercial awareness with a genuine interest in transitioning into a conflicts and compliance role
- Knowledge of SRA conflicts rules and wider regulatory frameworks
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels
- Organised and proactive, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A collaborative approach, with an interest in supporting and developing junior colleagues
- Exposure to US conflicts rules or broader regulatory frameworks would be advantageous but is not essential
Benefits
- Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
- Hybrid working model (Three days on site per week)
- Strong opportunities for professional development and career progression
- Exposure to complex, high-profile matters within a global firm
- Supportive and well-established risk and compliance team
