The Firm
Our client is a leading international law firm with a strong global presence and a well-established London office. Known for its operational excellence and high-performing business services teams, the firm is now seeking an International Accounts Payable Clerk to join its Financial Services function.
The Opportunity
This is a permanent position within the Finance Operations team, supporting international offices and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions. The role sits within a busy Financial Services department and requires a proactive individual who can work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
The successful International Accounts Payable Clerk will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting global payment processes. Key duties include:
- Reviewing and processing accounts payable invoices and wire transfer requests
- Ensuring adherence to firm policies and internal procedures
- Verifying expense documentation, approvals and coding (including VAT assessments)
- Reviewing general ledger and client coding for accuracy
- Initiating and recording domestic and international wire transfers via banking platforms
- Assisting with the recording of multi-currency transactions
- Acting as a key contact for recurring wire transfers and maintaining related documentation
- Preparing journal entries for review
- Supporting international cashflow forecast submissions
- Reconciling vendor accounts and maintaining accurate transaction records
- Responding to payment status queries and resolving discrepancies
- Contributing to process improvements within the department
Requirements
- Minimum of four years' experience in a finance or accounts payable role (a degree may be considered in lieu of experience)
- Experience within a law firm or professional services environment advantageous
- Proficiency in MS Office and banking platforms for electronic payments
- Experience with Aderant and/or Chrome River desirable
