Opportunity for an International Arbitration Junior Partner to join a leading specialist London law firm with a highly regarded International Law practice.

My client is a highly reputable city firm who have established an international reputation for excellence across the world.

They specialise in high-value and complex disputes for both corporate and individuals and have a strong reputation for innovative and ground-breaking litigation, consistently ranking in the Legal 500 for international arbitration.

The opportunity

The department specialises in high value and complex cases, all of which feature international elements such as different domestic laws and arbitration seats.
The International Law team is recognised for its expertise in handling disputes with political, diplomatic and international dimensions. The team covers international arbitration, sanctions, human rights and geopolitical disputes, and regularly advises on matters involving bilateral investment treaties, corruption allegations, and cross-border commercial conflicts.

The firm is now seeking a Junior Partner (or Of Counsel) to join the team as a strategic growth hire. This role offers the opportunity for the new hire to play a key part in developing the firm's arbitration and wider international disputes offering.

The role will involve:

  • Leading on commercial and/or investment treaty arbitration matters
  • Playing a central role in growing the firm's international arbitration practice
  • Developing and head up the firm's sanctions capability, working across both standalone and arbitration-linked matters
  • Advising on complex disputes involving international agreements, geopolitical issues and regulatory frameworks

Required

  • Established International Arbitration lawyer at Junior Partner or Of Counsel level
  • Strong experience in commercial and/or investment treaty arbitration
  • Demonstrable client following (ideally £500k+)
  • Experience or interest in sanctions work
