Job Description
Opportunity for a Planning Solicitor to join an international, top-tier law firm in their London office at Associate level.
The Firm
Our client is one of London's most established international law firms, with a market-leading real estate practice.
They have a strong global presence and advise on complex, high-value development projects across the UK and internationally.
They boast an exceptional client base including leading developers, investors, funds, corporates and public sector bodies.
They are renowned for advising on complex and innovative development schemes, with particular strength across offshore wind, urban regeneration, life sciences campuses, prime office buildings and large-scale residential-led projects.
Vacancy
The planning team is an integral part of the London real estate group and works closely with colleagues across the wider practice to deliver a fully integrated service on major projects.
The team advises on all aspects of planning law, including negotiations and appeals for planning and associated consents, drafting and negotiating planning and related agreements, and advising on the environmental implications of development proposals.
As a Planning Associate, you would be involved in advising on:
- Negotiating s106 agreements for large, multi-use developments, including affordable housing provisions
- Negotiating infrastructure agreements, including highways and sewer agreements
- Advising on Community Infrastructure Levy, listed buildings and CPO-related principles
- Providing strategic planning advice across a variety of schemes, including infrastructure projects
- Supporting the transactional real estate team with due diligence, reporting on planning history and contributing to planning elements of documentation
- Advising on highways matters, including stopping up
- Attending public inquiries and/or hearings
Experience advising on development consent orders and infrastructure projects would be advantageous but is not essential.

Requirements
- UK qualified Planning Solicitor
- Experience advising on complex, multi-use developments
- Strong experience negotiating s106 agreements and other development-related agreements
- Working knowledge of Community Infrastructure Levy, listed buildings and CPO principles
- Experience gained at a comparable City or national firm
- Confident in managing day-to-day responsibility on matters
