Job Description
The Organisation
Our client is a leading law firm with a long-standing reputation for advising businesses, entrepreneurs, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. They provide practical, commercial advice across complex domestic and international matters. This role is for a proactive Senior Learning & Development Advisor within the HR team, reporting to the HR Director and working closely with Partners, Department Heads, and FMS Directors.
The Opportunity
- Assess firm-wide training needs and design impactful L&D initiatives aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements (SRA, CPD, employment law)
- Develop training materials including presentations, workshops, e-learning modules, and support internal subject matter experts
- Source and manage external training providers and accreditors
- Lead the Talent Academy and oversee the annual training calendar: legal updates, leadership, soft skills, compliance, and professional development
- Manage the LMS, ensuring accurate records and accessible resources
- Ensure mandatory training is implemented and compliance maintained
- Support career development frameworks, SQE and apprenticeship initiatives, and Trainee Solicitor/Apprentice development plans
- Monitor L&D metrics, manage budgets, and evaluate training effectiveness using data-driven insights
- Act as first point of contact for L&D queries and promote a culture of continuous learning
- Collaborate with HR on engagement, diversity & inclusion, and performance management initiatives
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in an L&D role, ideally in legal or professional services
- Proven ability to deliver training programmes and conduct needs analysis
- Strong knowledge of CPD, SRA requirements, and legal qualifications (including SQE)
- Confident facilitator with excellent project management, organisational, and communication skills
- Experience with LMS and digital/AI training tools is desirable
- Familiarity with ESG and diversity & inclusion training is advantageous
